Reading break

It's reading break time! I have today and tomorrow off thanks to SFU's little mid-semester reading break. Even with this time off, however, I'm managing to keep myself pretty busy. I had a co-op job interview this morning, have a Triple C (Communication Co-op Committee) meeting downtown this evening, and another co-op job interview tomorrow morning.

Wow. I actually know a celebrity! A friend of mine from high school, Sonja Bennett, is starring in the new movie Punch. She's received quite a bit of media coverage: in the WestEnder, Vancouver Sun and the Province. Hope to see the movie soon, but unfortunately it's only playing downtown. Anyways, it's all very exciting. Go Sonja, go!

Work in progress

Hiya. Just want to make note of the fact that I am in the process of integrating this blog into my site. You may notice some design inconsistencies with some of the blog pages right now, but hopefully it will all be fixed soon!

My first ad!

Some of you may remember me talking about an ad I was working on for a design course I'm taking at Harbour Centre. Well, I handed the ad in last week and guess what - I got an A! All that fussing and fiddling was worth it I guess. :)

I really enjoy the creative process involved in graphic design - maybe it's something I should pursue after graduation. There's a Publishing Program at Langara that I've been thinking about.

Bright sunshiny (and lazy) day

Well, I had a pretty lazy day yesterday. Went out for sushi with Mel and Vicki (for lunch), which was followed up with a nice long walk on the dykes to work off some of our feast! Later we watched Final Destination, which I wasn't too impressed with. Brendan Fehr had a small role in the movie, which was oh-so-thrilling because I used to work with his sister.

Happy Anniversary

I attended a surprise party last night for my parents' 30th anniversary. Although I missed the surprise part, it went very well - lots of people, food, laughing and dancing.

I cut out a bit early with my sister and brother-in-law (we didn't really fit into the mostly 40+ crowd!), and we hung out at Tim Horton's for a bit. That was nice. I haven't been over at Nicole and Fred's house much this semester, so I had fun just chatting and catching up with them.

Woke up and heard that the space shuttle Columbia broke apart in flames this morning, killing all seven astronauts on board.

Refreshing!

Well I finally got around to "refreshing" my site this evening. Simplified the design a bit, which should clear up any display issues in other browsers. I've also been tinkering with the display of this blog/journal, so bear with me as I figure it out. :)
