During my one year stint at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, I was involved in a variety of communication initiatives including the unveiling of the Health Region's first emergency disaster plan, coordination of a successful United Way campaign, and the writing and design of the staff newsletter. When BC's regional health boundaries were realigned in December 2001, I worked on communications surrounding the organizational restructuring.

The Terry Fox Foundation continues the mission of Terry Fox, who attempted to run across Canada on an artificial leg in 1980 to raise money and awareness for cancer research. While at the Foundation I developed event fundraising ideas, contacted schools across the province and encouraged them to hold Terry Fox awareness and fundraising events, and organized the delivery of event materials.
